I am thrilled to congratulate the University of Hawaii system (UH), on their 2016 WCET WOW award for cutting-edge application of data and digital advising tools to improve student retention. As a founding member of the PAR Framework, UH has transformed its decision-making process by using data to surface timely insights to improve policies and direct student services.

The PAR Framework’s rigorous approach to using data to inform change has supported institution-wide initiatives at UH that have demonstrated a significant effect on student success. In fact, the leaders at University of Hawaii System institutions saw the benefits of analytics and student success tools early — and were integrating data between the PAR Framework and Starfish Retention Solutions even before the two organizations came together under the same roof at Hobsons.

The team at UH are dream partners, aggressive in their pursuit of driving institutional improvements, always offering input into our products and solutions, and willing to engage in big thinking around how to use data to help more students achieve their goals.
